Why we created SonicMax
I’m a maker at heart.
I’ve always loved discovering interesting tools, taking things apart, experimenting with ideas, and thinking about how products could be made better.
When I first came across the idea of a wireless ultrasonic cutter, I was immediately fascinated by it.
The concept was exciting: a compact cordless tool that could cut through materials with very little force and give makers a completely different way to work.
But after looking more closely at the products already available, I felt there was still a big gap between the idea and a tool I would actually want to use.
So I decided to do something about it.
I invested my own time, energy, and money into developing what eventually became Slice 10.
The goal was simple: take an idea I genuinely loved and turn it into a wireless ultrasonic cutter that could truly serve makers in real-world use.
That journey led us to rethink runtime, heat management, power efficiency, battery design, and the overall user experience.
Slice 10 started because I wanted this tool to exist.
And as a maker, sometimes that’s all the reason you need to start building.

From internal structure to cooling, power, assembly, and real cutting tests, Slice 10 was refined through repeated prototypes to solve the interruptions creators actually feel.
Built Through Iteration
Slice 10 went through multiple structure, handle, battery, and airflow refinements before reaching the final design.
Rebuilt from the Inside Out
We redesigned the internal layout around the ultrasonic core, battery, PCB, airflow, and hand comfort instead of simply changing the outer shell.
Focused on the Cutting Core
The ultrasonic core was repeatedly adjusted to improve cutting feel, reduce wasted heat, and keep more energy focused at the blade.
Cooling Was Not an Add-On
Heat was one of the biggest workflow problems, so airflow, fan placement, and internal spacing were considered as part of the core system.
Power Designed for Fewer Pauses
The battery and charging system were built around longer sessions, replaceable power, and less waiting between cuts.
Tested in Real Cutting Conditions
Every change had to prove itself in actual material tests, because the goal was not just better specs, but smoother work
